The light at the end of the tree

Wow, what a week! This last week has been a marathon, grinders and chainsaws blasting long into the night. Haumanu is away (well most of it) and the valley can finally sleep again. The space it stood is huge! Feeling so relieved and happy but most of all feeling so filled with gratitude and aroha and proud to have such amazing friends and family. There is no way we could have achieved this without you. Thank you for your tautoko, your strength and aroha.

To the home team, John, Whiu, Joe, Rona and Dan.

We're all a little crazy around here about now :)

Dad bringing down the columns.

Rona and Dan realising how much there still is to oil and wrap!

Working right through the night. Even the dogs gave up and went to bed. As dead tired as we all were it was a wonderful feeling to have everyone standing with us when the sun rose.

The next morning.

Kaumātua Hare Paniora and Bobby Newson along with Mereana Taungapeau arrived to give a karakia and accompany Haumanu to Auckland. Always a pleasure, it was a beautiful end to the first phase of this kaupapa.

Where Haumanu stood, let the light in again!

Time for some sleep.
